The Digital Transformation of University Teaching of Arabic Language in the Times of Covid: Use of Audiovisual Materials for levels B2 and C1 of the Common Framework of Reference for Languages

This communication entitled ”The digital transformation of university teaching of Arabic language in the times of Covid: use of audiovisual materials for levels B2 and C1 of the Common Framework of Reference” aims to address the issue of the digital transformation of university teaching of Arabic language in the university degrees that teach it as language A, B or C, derived from the socio-sanitary situation of the pandemic by the COVID-19.

As is well known, the case of the Arabic language presents a diglossia that intervenes in the teaching both at the written and spoken level. There is a classical or modern standard Arabic that is used on a daily basis in formal situations and different spoken or dialectal varieties.

In this case, we present a case study of the application of different audiovisual resources for the B2 and C1 levels of the language through the use of songs and movies in classical and dialectal Arabic. Although it had been used previously in Arabic language classes, it is with the current situation of virtual or blended teaching that this tool has been fully developed and has been able to generate great motivation.

As a conclusion, the results of this proposal will serve to raise proposals for improvement likely to be permanent in our future teaching activity in the field of languages at high levels of language proficiency in order to consolidate it and raise new innovation activities.
